Big MO in the community |
The Megatron Oracles has made many appearances in it's community throughout the years. We are constantly looking for opportunities to get out of the work room and help our neighbors. From inspiring young elementary students, to collecting food for those who need it, we love to get involved.

In the past few years, We have been featured in several newspaper articles including The Flint Journal and the Flint Township View.
Orientation Demos
We have been invited to have a demonstration at Carman-Ainsworth High School's Orientation/Schedule Pick-Up before the school year begins and again during the Open House for parents. We allow students to try to drive our robots from recent years. We take the opportunity to explain to the students and parents the benefits of joining a FIRST® Robotics Team.
Open Houses
Our team has participated in open houses held at Carman Park Baker Career Academy. The Career Academy is a high school/early college partnership between Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools, Bendle Public Schools, and Baker College of Flint. The Carman Park Baker Career Academy is a unique high school designed for students who are highly motivated to complete the Michigan Merit Curriculum (MMC) through an exceptional program that emphasizes academics and career preparation. The Academy offers rigorous and relevant academic and career preparation in a setting that reflects high expectations, demands strong student commitment and meets MMC guidelines. Every student who is accepted into the program must commit to adhering to all Academy goals, policies, procedures, and standards as well as collegiate level outcomes for post secondary studies. We aim to expand student's interests in extracurricular activities in general and provide opportunities to join our team directly.

Big MO has attended several school board meetings. We advise the board on the success of our team, present them with any awards or trophies we have achieved, our competition results, any outreach events we are attending as well as any events we are planning. We invite the board members to attend all of our events and competitions and have had several come to participate with us.

Men-At-Work Winterfest
Every year we volunteer at Winterfest, which is hosted by Men at Work, an organization that works to help fathers connect and be a bigger part of their children's lives. Winterfest is a free event for the community that provides holiday music, free hot chocolate and donuts, and a gift for every child from Santa. The event's purpose is to collect donations of non-perishable food items, gently used coats, new unwrapped toys, or monetary donations which then go to support the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, the Salvation Army, the U.S. Marine's "Toys for Tots," and the Old Newsboys.
ABC 12 Spirit Cup
A few years ago, our team help lead our school district to gather food donations for the ABC 12 Spirit Cup Contest. All the collected food gets donated to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. We managed to raise over 172,000 lbs. of food. In 2016, our school was fortunate enough to be able to accomplish this honor again.
